President John Dramani Mahama has directed the formation of an inter-agency task force following investigations into recent cases of drug trafficking through Ghana’s ports.
The directive was issued after President Mahama chaired a meeting with security chiefs on Thursday, September 17, 2026, to receive a briefing on the investigations.
The meeting was informed that 10 people, including four officers of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), are currently being held as investigations continue.
The task force is expected to present its roadmap within two weeks.
