It’s been more than a month since Edokhafue Isuku, a Point-of-Sale (PoS) agent, mistakenly sent N121,000 to the wrong UBA account owned by Chukwuemeka Chioma Patricia while trying to send the funds to another account.
“I borrowed it from OPay. I wanted to transfer it to where I normally collect cash to do PoS business, when I mistakenly transferred it to the wrong account,” Isuku told FIJ.

After she made the transaction on September 4, she went to OPay’s office in Ikeja to resolve the issue. According to her, the officials had asked her to pay a sum before later requesting a court order.
“OPay [officials] told me that UBA told them that the customer had withdrawn the money from her account. They said that I should go and bring a court order. I went to the Federal High Court, and they told me that the money was [a] small [amount], and that I should go to a Magistrate Court,” Isuku said.
“I went to the Magistrate Court and they told me that the court order would cost some money, and it will take three months to be ready.”
